Here we are presenting details about ramgarhia brotherhood “SAGGU GOTRAS” Historical book “VISHAVKARMA MAHIMA” tells that old name of “SAGGU GOTRAS” was “SGASAKASHIK”, which has been changed into simple work like “SAGGU” with time. In vishavkarma family “SAGGU GOTRA” relates to Maharaja Oshiz Ji.

In 16th century, during the rule of King Akbar & Jahagir. Baba Ji’s real name was shri Vasdev Ji. They were born in village rakba, which is situated 3 kilometers away from mullanpur. Everyone use to call baba ji “BHAGAN WALA” “BHAGAN WALA”, so baba ji’s name was changed to “BABA BHAGMAL SAGGU JI”. Baba Ji’s wife name was Mata Bholi ji and baba ji has a son named Baba Jaimal Ji.

Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji was born near 1538. King akbar was born on 1542 and King Humayun died in 1556, at that time akbar was only 14 years old. King humayun had a senapati named Bairam Khan. After the death of humayun, akbar was made king. During battle of panipat king akbar’s forces were killed in huge numbers. Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji joined akbar’s force in agra. After the battle of panipat, in most victories of king akbar, Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji played a very vital role.

Whenever king akbar got defeated, then he visited to Shri Guru Amardass Ji (Gaddi Nasheen of Guru Nanak Dev Ji) like a normal person, and he always asked one question “Can he win chitorgarh?”. Guru Amrdass Ji ordered on Goindwal’s soil that when our language’s KAR will break, then you will win chitorgarh. Chitorgarh fort was also won by Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji. At that time bairam khan was posted somewhere else. Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji were in second place after bairam khan.

After winning the battle of chitorgarh, king akber sent Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji for rest. At that time baba ji came back to agra for rest. During this period baba ji made a gun which can hit upto 1 kilometer. After vacations baba ji joined the duty. One day when king akbar was on hunting, a lion came in front of him. And then baba ji shot a bullet in the head of lion, and lion died on the spot. King akbar told baba ji to move around in horse where he wants to, all that land will be named to baba ji. Baba ji knew at that time doaba west soil was most fertile. Baba ji moved around doaba on his horse, king akbar gave all that land to baba ji, and place was named GHOREKA. This changed into simple word GHURKA with time. Baba ji did not take land at rakba, because the land of rakba was not as fertile as doaba. Due to this baba ji gave priority to doaba. Baba ji appointed a servant to look after the soil. Baba ji likes to hunt, servant also use to go with baba ji during hunting. While depositing land tax, servant becomes dishonest. He deposited all this on his 6 sons and baba ji’s son baba jaimal ji. Then servant became even more greedy. One day when baba ji were resting after returning from hunt. He attacked baba ji suddenly and killed them and put baba ji body into bushes. But baba ji’s honest dogs given information to his family members. While crying family members burnt the dead body, baba ji’s wife has also burnt. Servant taking the advantage of muslim rule, divided land into 7 parts, 6 parts for his own sons and 1 part for baba ji’s son. In 7th part he again made a village for staying and gives the name to village “PATTI LUHARAN”

Patti Lohara was in the name of Baba Ji’s son Baba Jaimal Ji, and other 6 are in village Ghurkan. Every patti has a separate Nambardar. At the place of baba ji’s death, there were bushes all around. Some time before S. Mela Singh Saggu, S. Didar Singh Saggu, S. Kartar Singh Saggu, S. Karam Singh Saggu and S. Milkha Singh Saggu has made a proper place. Now this place is known as “SAGGU JATHERE”. When S. Kulwant Singh Saggu S/O S. Darshan Singh has taken the jamabandi of this holy saggu jathere’s, place from the department, then is this Mati Patti Lohara Jathere which has 5 marle land, has also been given to Saggu Jathere by some one. People has also donated 30 marle land to this holy SAGGU JATHERE. Huge festival is organized on 14th of chet every year. And people comes here to get blessings of Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji and Mata Bholi Ji.

To know more about Baba Bhagmal Saggu Ji, S. Ajit Singh Saggu, S. Balbir Singh Saggu, S. Kulwant Singh Saggu, S. Jaswant Singh Saggu and M.P. Singh Saggu went to Haridwar(Utrakhand). But even pandits there has record for 1-2 years only.

Saggu Jathere is situated near village rurki, when we comes from Phagwara, Goraya and Jandiala. Every year on 14th of chet there is a huge festival and langar is also arranged.

Here on 14th of chet SHAHIDI DIVAS of baba ji is celebrated, while in village Rakba Baba Ji’s birthday is celebrated on diwali day.
